Disappointed in Little Stranger?

I was honestly a little disappointed with the book. I didn't like how there wasn't much happening for the length of the book and at the end of the day, we don't even really know if anything happened at all. I feel that the book is more likely to be about mental instability from stress than from ghosts. It certainly didn't seem scary to me...

Anyone else a bit disappointed? or anyone else want to refute my claims?

I agree with you completely. I was expecting something wild to happen in the end but nothing really did. My expectations are what kept me going through the book, then they were shattered in the end.

I don't think I liked the book very much, but at the same time I don't think I expected anything more fantastic than what DID happen. I don't think it was setting itself up for it. If all of a sudden it had erupted into a wild ghost story I would've been angry--it's just not how the story seemed to be going.

I was definitely disappointed by the book because I felt like it was all leading to something and that something never really came clear. I also agree with Meg that I wasn't expecting anything super fantastic but I felt that some things were going to be tied together and some questions answered better than they were.

Definitely agree, I can't really say I was disappointed, but that's only because I didn't go into the book expecting anything in particular, but I felt that it could have lead to something really exciting, and then...nothing.

It was like having to walk uphill, praying for the part where the action will pick up and then you can head downhill, only to find yourself having to jump off a cliff and start walking back up the hill again.
