Magic for Beginners

I have to say that overall, I'm pretty disappointed with "Pretty Monsters". I enjoyed the first story, but after that, they weren't very interesting to me. Some of the plots had their moments, but I feel like she didn't really finish a lot of the stories. It's almost as if she finished some of the stories quickly to meet a deadline or something.

As for my story, "Magic for Beginners," I enjoyed the plot, but still feel like she left a lot out of the story. It was an interesting twist to have the TV show connected to real life, but also obvious. I felt like a lot of the information given was unnecessary to the plot.

What do you guys think?

I felt cheated on this story. I felt like there was all this build up and then it just ended without really explaining anything. I know that he "saved" Fox by stealing the books but I was looking for a little more closure.

I felt like the connection to real life was at first a bit endearing, but after I read all of the stories, I felt like as a sum, Kelly Link tried too hard to connect to real life with her stories that it just felt blunt and not immersive.

I really liked this story. The jumps from one item to another mimic the jumps that occur between commercial breaks. It made a lot of sense to me that the tv show for the characters of a tv show would be so random and unnecessarily convoluted. It was a charming story.
