So, I just finished watching the first episode of HBO's Game of Thrones. I am so impressed by their work. It is super meticulous and it is VERY accurate to the book. I am totally in love with it, and would highly recommend to anyone and everyone to get HBO, even if its just for this series.
Another nice thing, its an hour episode. I don't mean 37 minutes plus commercials, I mean no commercials and 1 hour of true programming. Epic win.
Go watch it and then subscribe to HBO!!!!!

Just watched it off my DVR and it was awesome. I'm pumped for the season.
How can I watch it and THEN subscribe to HBO? Doesn't it have to be the other way around? I couldn't find it anywhere online. :(
There are less than legal ways of obtaining stuff with the internet :-P
Try piratebay (thepiratebay.org). I usually do not support piracy, but I believe people have the right to "try" things before they buy them. So, I suggest obtaining the first episode, and if you love it (which if you like fantasy, betrayal, dragons, magic, and other adult themes, I am completely confident you will love it), its totally worth the monthly cost of HBO in my opinion. And HBO actually has some decent movies too I've DVR'd.
Though I do not usually support piracy, I feel like this case might be more akin to the free versions of Cory Doctorow's books released on his website. He releases them for free because it coheres to his belief in how modern intellectual property should be treated, but also because the free versions actually serve to increase interest in the print versions of his books.
If Game of Thrones is as good as I have heard, I think that seeing the first one might be a gateway to purchasing HBO.
