Procrastination

I didn't realize how much I used this class to procrastinate in my others. Write that 5 pager for AC 210? Nah, I gotta read The Heart-Shaped Box. Do my aplia for econ? Nope, not when I have 1000+ pages of Under the Dome to tackle. But now that we're done reading I have no excuse to not do my hw and it's driving me crazy. At least if I read for this class it was for a legitimate reason. If I was to pick up a random novel right now though, I would get lost in a story that has no relevance to my grade. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes! I've got a test this week and three papers next week that I just put off all weekend! I felt so bad about it, but I can't seem to get back into the groove of things since the past however many weekends I've just been reading! I'm glad it's not just me.

Haha I have just moved onto books not for class... No matter what I'm reading I feel like I'm doing something academic (even though I'm clearly not) so I put off things with ease

Nope. But only because I'm also taking English lit this semester. So if I'm not reading for Andy's class, I'm reading for English. Just started a novel called 'Disgrace,' about a professor in South Africa who has an affair with a student so he's fired and must move in with his daughter. It's really good so far.

Haha, I've been in so many English classes every semester that I can only read books for class during the school year (basically). And this semester I'm in children's lit, so sometimes my homework has been Horton Hears a Who or The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. This semester I've got a poetry class with a lot of reading and my Blount class, which included some science books and a few novels, so really for me reading is ALL for class. I would, however, on occasion choose reading for this class over working on papers or discussion questions for the other English classes. ^^;

You guys have no idea how much time I wasted this semester by making the mistake of attempting to briefly procrastinate by the expedient of reading a little of a novel... It is a great way to get caught up reading a fantasy series.
